Episode 41: Are you resilient?
Hold it together. Be strong. Don’t let it get to you.
Hello dear Elephant conversationalists, 🐘
Try saying these three above statements out loud. Now, place your hands on your chest and say them again. What do you notice? How does your body respond? There are not enough human fingers to count on in the Universe to share how many times these three statements have been uttered out of people's mouths over the last 32 years tableside.
In a world that values strength by not letting things “get” to you, and “holding it together,” where is the space for YOU to let go, to soften, and to surrender?
There seems to be a perpetual pressure of not showing how we really feel and choking back the frustrations and tears of life. Have you been there? Can you relate?
Sometimes it can feel like YOU are the only one that feels this way. The truth is that we have been CONDITIONED this way. Therefore, it can feel scary or not safe to surrender to the deeper truths that lie underneath and within you.
Whether we realize it consciously or not this often leads to judgement of others or ourselves if we exhibit anything counter to “be strong” culture.
Is it possible that offering a more connected and embodied understanding of what it means to BE RESILIENT could be of value?
I say a BIG heck YES! 🙏🏽
What if the exact thing you are trying to hold together is the EXACT thing that is meant to break apart and let new light and awareness in?
Walk with me on this journey of your resilience and consider a new paradigm on how you can let the hard things in life open you vs. harden you.
Resilience isn’t just “staying upright” — it’s about what unfolds in us when we’re knocked down.
With ❤,
Dr. Deb Ayer
