Episode 45: Ever feel anxious?

Listen on Spotify

Hello 🐘lovers,

I often find that the most prevalent expressions in humanity that exist hold within them keys to understanding our history, our collective and personal evolution, and our paths forward. Anxiety certainly lands in this domain.

It is nearly impossible to go through a day (if not with yourself, with someone else) without experiencing some manifestation of racing thoughts or concern due to uncertainty. It may be uncertainty of what is happening in our world or where you are headed personally, or trusting the unfolding of yours and your loved ones lives. Our minds so desperately seek certainty.

If our minds are so often where we get stuck, where then does that leave us in navigating uncertainty?

In addressing this elephant, I found myself having to take a step back and hold an eagle’s view in order to embody a deeper understanding of the layered nature of anxiety.

In this episode, I ask for you to imagine that we are each sitting in a circle with one another, listening, self-reflecting and gaining a deeper understanding of the influences that impact how we find safety within (or don’t) and how well can we traverse the precariousness of life.

We will explore how cultural disconnection and feelings of isolation activate overwhelm in our nervous system as well as tends to create a forgetting of who we are on a heart and soul level.

Do you ever feel like it’s hard to catch up with life, get ā€œitā€ all done, or get a good night's sleep?

Then, when you can’t sleep you get on your device and fill yourself up with more information…most of it, not good.

These are not uncommon life navigation tools for us all and therefore it seems nearly impossible to escape some form of feeling anxious.

When it comes to anxiety; YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

My hope is that as we dip into a more poignant awareness of how culture, our nervous system, and our spirit are intertwined to influence that you may extract gems that support how well you cannot only manage life, but how you can reclaim a sense of safety, agency, and heart.

Thank you for sitting with me,
ā¤ļø Dr Deb
